The Botanique team traveled to the Smithsonian’s celebrated National Museum of African American History and Culture, meeting with staff there to follow up on their application to sell seedwork and fiber arts through Smithsonian Global. Everyone was welcoming and loved the work.

The National Pavilion of Antigua and Barbuda featured intangible cultural heritage of the twin island nation, including seed work. Venetians were intrigued by the beautiful pieces, making connections between the intricate wild tamarind seed work to their tiny glass seed bead work made on the islands of Murano and Venice by impiraressas.
